It’s hard to find good, fresh and affordable granola when you’re a celiac or simply on a gluten-free diet. That’s why we created the Nutbrown range of grain-free and gluten-free granolas.Â
But you can also make it yourself with ingredients you can easily find! And contrary to popular belief, many grains and pseudo-grains are gluten-free.
Here are two gluten-free granola recipes to try with our Nutbrown, when you have the time and energy to cook! You can tailor them to your taste by using gluten-free ingredients of your choosing.
1. Lemon Raspberry and White Chocolate Granola
Ingredients:
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup cashews
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Zest of one lemon
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 cup dried raspberries
- 1/2 cup dried blueberries
- 1/2 cup white chocolate
Directions:
- Mix the oats, nuts and seeds together in a bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat the honey and add the lemon juice.
- Remove from heat and add oil and zest.
- Add to the dry mixture and spread on a cookie sheet.
- Bake for about 40 minutes in the oven at 325 F, turning the tray and stirring halfway through the cooking time.
- Let cool and add fruit and chocolate.
2. Crunchy Banana Chocolate Granola
Ingredients:
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup macadamia nuts
- 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 mashed banana
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup salted caramel milk chocolate
Directions:
- Combine the oats, nuts and cocoa in a bowl.
- Mix the mashed banana, oil and peanut butter together in a small bowl.
- Add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture.
- Spread the mixture onto a cookie sheet.
- Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 300 F, turning the tray halfway through the baking time.
- Let the mixture cool before breaking it into pieces, then add chocolate.
