About
La Fourmi
Celebrating 20 years of doing things differently.
La Fourmi was the first gourmet granola to hit Canadian grocery chain shelves, more than 20 years ago, and we’re still here, putting our best into every bag, honoured from seed to sacred. It means a lot to us.
It means choosing quality over quantity ⎯ like sourcing certified organic, local and fair trade ingredients ⎯ is a distinction consumers can taste and appreciate.
It means our commitment to the wellbeing of all living things, in every decision we make, really works, without undermining profitability or sacrificing the decadence of a truly gourmet experience.
It means Canada’s first gourmet granola, a woman-owned company, has received 15 industry awards and 10 certifications by growing naturally and by daring to be the first to do things differently.
It means we are proud to share our progressive business model with tomorrow’s leaders, students and rising entrepreneurs, and encourage eco-sensitivity in business for the betterment of all.
Also, it means at the end of every day we feel the wholesome pride of a job well done, grateful for finding our own simple way to meaningfully serve what is most sacred to us, the vitality and continuity of nature and a healthy planet.

« At first, retailers told me chocolate in granola would never sell, and certainly not if sold in a bag. I love what I do and so I just keep finding ways to do it better… the taste, the earth, the relationship with nature and bringing this important awareness to industry, suppliers and consumers. »
Geneviève Gagnon
Founding President of La Fourmi.
Simply Sacred. Since 2004.
On its 20th anniversary, La Fourmi adopted a new corporate signature that celebrates a legacy of remarkable achievements. It captures our steadfast commitment to preserve the environment and the well-fare of all its beings in our pursuit to create truly sensational and simply sacred gourmet granola experiences for everyone can enjoy.
The new signature embodies the fine balance of temperance and innovation that has guided the company’s singular approach to success. Never compromising on these sacred ways has meant going against the grain of standard practices at times, and foregoing opportunities, trending processes, and profit models that didn’t consider consumer wellbeing and environmental preservation.
Keeping it simple and growing naturally has proven to be the better course every time, and maintained the integrity of what is sacred. How very excellent that the best quality of ingredients is also raised naturally, unadulterated and with respect for nature’s brilliant dynamics and abundant generosity. Clearly, the environment’s vitality is sacred. Afterall, it’s what provides for our mutual vitality too.
